THE PLAN

     As with all medical mission trips to developing countries, the plans are never really concrete.

     Tentatively, this group of 15 missioners hopes to leave the USA via Miami on July 9, 2005, and to work for a week in the central part of Nicaragua, near Matagalpa.  Some of this time will be spent in rural villages, serving some of Central America’s poorest people by providing some basic medical care.  Some of the group will also be doing some light construction, painting, and clean-up work at the same time.

     During our week, we plan to also visit some of the “Feeding Centers” established by Missionary Ventures International (www.missionaryventures.org) to provide three meals per week to the very poor children in the area.  And, we hope to visit MVI’s “Re-nutrition Center,” where the very malnourished and starving babies and children are taken in for a few months to raise their nutritional status back up toward normal.

     If all goes as planned, we’ll return home to Florida the following weekend
