Coronado Community United Methodist Church is a
community whose mission is “Serving God, Sharing
Love.” When people join our church, they promise
to support the church through their prayers, their
presence, their gifts, and their service. As we
become Christ’s hands, feet, and voice in a suffering
world, we find ourselves Traveling on the Wings of
Grace, offering healing and hope to God’s children
at home and abroad.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said,
“Here I am; send me!” Isaiah 6:8
Whether its working on homes damaged by hurricanes in desolate Honduras
or in rural North Carolina; singing and reading Bible stories with teenagers
in rural Mexico; delivering Meals on Wheels to Edgewater shut-ins;
extracting a painful tooth in Guyana; or mentoring an at-risk teenager from
New Smyrna Beach High School, CCUMC “missionaries” find themselves
carried by those wings of grace in many locations....near and far.
For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me water; I was a stranger and you
invited me into your homes; naked and you clothed me; sick and in prison and you visited me.
Matthew 25:35-36
Without fail, each time a missioner goes out to serve – whether near our
homes or in a faraway country – each person comes home with a renewed
faith, feeling as though they received much more than they could possibly
have given. We try to serve God and share love, and it comes back to us
many times over.
God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing
on to others God’s many kinds of blessings. I Peter 4:9-10
"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the
places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you
can." - JOHN WESLEY

TO YURIMAGUAS, PERU in August '09:
The mission team of 9 from New Smyrna Beach traveled to
Yurimaguas, Peru, and provided medical and dental care to the
poor in Munichis, San Rafael, Puerto Arturo, Tupac, and
Parinari. We were hosted by MISSIONARY VENTURES
MISSIONARY, SUSAN HOLOWECKY. She has been
working in Peru for nearly 10 years.
Our team of 9 traveled from Orlando to southern Mexico in September 2011, where we tried to provide
love, our presence, and some medical and dental care to the poor in the mountains of the southern
Mexican state of Oaxaca ("Wha HOK ah"). There are about 120 different languages spoken in Oaxaca,
and Missionary Ventures missionaries Jim and Jamie Loker have been faithfully working to translate the
Gospels into many of these languages for the past 17 years. The Lokers hosted the team, and led our
truck-van-Suburban caravan from their home town (Mitla) ~ 9 hours up into the mountains where we slept
on the concrete and worked for the people... See Arlen's Daily Updates here.
