GUATEMALA TEAM REPORT    --     DE FIN  -  JANUARY 2009

The big day has arrived.  After a last "Chichi" breakfast together, the team scurries around finishing
packing, which is difficult, as everyone seems to have accumulated more treasures.
One last time we clutch the back of the bus seat as Anderson negotiates the road to Camanchaj
with admirable skill.

In Camanchaj, our work site is almost unrecognizable after our clean-up yesterday.  Chairs are
arrayed facing the pre-school porch.  The dignitaries share this stage with the BAND, and a table
heaped with bears and hoodies.  People are streaming down the path to the clinic/school.  Balloons
and streamers!  A table heaped with tamales and cake and punch. . .
.
Everyone is full of joy and thanksgiving. . . . Carey Cooper delivers a gracious and warm greeting in
Spanish.  Phil Plunk speaks, and I can almost follow his Spanish. . . .

TIME TO GO!  Our last blessing is presenting a true BAG of gifts to Inge Loman.  Pictures, a
journal signed by all team members, and a stethoscope engraved with Salud y Paz.  Tears, Hugs,
Farewell !!
