Serving God - Sharing Love
Wednesday and Thursday Update
Wednesday we completed some rooftop storm water drainage. We completed
stripping overhead forms and de-nailed them for stucco process. We have
completed the water supply lines to the school bathrooms and the sanitary sewer
for the 3 new toilets. Phil will be very pleased!!
Sand sifting continues. We have installed electrical boxes and conduits. We
have cleaned up all rented form material so it is
suitable for return. The rusty, crooked nails that are removed are straightened
and re-used. They don't waste anything. This amounted
to 3 full buckets of nails. All the concrete chipping was completed for stucco
work. All underground piping required demolition of
existing concrete structure BY HAND. On Thursday all underground sewer and
water lines have their
elevations set and all trenches have been backfilled. The stucco application is
beginning now.
Our birthday girl, Kait, began her day at 6:30 AM Thursday with a huge
firecracker "salute" beneath her window - compliments of Inge and
Janet. The locals were helpful and very amused. Her breakfast chair was
decorated with balloons and streamers and Bob A. played the guitar
as we wished her a happy 16th birthday. Today was a market day in Chichi which
was a very colorful cultural experience and we arrived at
the construction site around noon for a birthday lunch. We are so pleased to be
celebrating Kait's special day!
We are all doing great and having a wonderful experience. It is truly a
privilege to serve God's people and we feel blessed in the
relationships we have developed.
Many photos to follow!
